OTI’s exciting acquisition, Hardington, has touched down in Australia and is currently in quarantine at Donnybrook before being transferred to the Gelagotis’ complex in the Latrobe Valley.
Peter and Manny Gelagotis have enjoyed a fruitful five years on the track with horses like Mourinho, Hvasstan, Illustrious Lad and the Group 1 winning Malaguerra shooting them to prominence in the Australian training ranks.
The Gelagotis brothers have a boutique operation at Moe. Featuring just 25 boxes – all with adjoining day yards – their focus is firmly on racing quality stock and Hardington certainly fills this brief.
Hardington is an imposing individual who has taken until his four-year-old season to mature and start converting his potential into racetrack success. A son of the Blue Diamond winning sire, Fastnet Rock, he comes to Australia on the back of successive 2100M wins at Haydock Park and Doncaster in the UK.
A progressive staying type, it’s expected that Hardington will head straight into work once he’s completed his quarantine with the hope of being at the races in late-May. OTI is excited to bring a galloper of this quality to Australia and hope he continues his winning ways for the partners involved.
