Harbour Views is now five from five and looks to be the most talented horse in the Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Final (1600m), with plenty of up-side as he learns his craft.
Three-wide for the entire trip at Geelong last start, he managed to wear down Impi and hold off O’Tauto in emphatic style.
Matthew Williams has been nothing short of impressed by this horse. His natural talent and ability to wipe the floor clean with his competitors will certainly be tested in tomorrow’s Country Series final.
He will carry an added 1.5kg from his Geelong win, however, will be giving Ripplebrook and Star Missile a 3.5kg head start.
Harbour Views has drawn barrier one and will have regular rider John Allen aboard. The expectation will be for him to kick up and sit behind the leaders, waiting for a gap in running to make his move. A horse with an explosive kick, he should find the sprint home at Flemington a breeze.
An up and coming horse for the future, we are excited to see a positive result in tomorrow’s mile race.
Best of luck to his connections!
