Earlier in 2021, we were thrilled to negotiate the purchase of the daughter of Into Mischief out of Sunny Desert, now known as Desert Fun.
An early 2019 foal, she is already physically strong. She has a smooth walk and moves nicely under saddle. Desert Fun has been fully educated and is now in the care of Andrew Noblet at Ballarat, with the expectation that she will race as a two-year-old and beyond.
With an international pedigree, she also presents as a long-term broodmare investment should she be able to gain black-type of her own. She is a daughter of Into Mischief, a Champion Sire in America that stands for US$250,000 in Kentucky. Into Mischief is the sire of the Kentucky Derby winner, Authentic, amongst over 100 stakes winners in total. Into Mischief’s developing dominance of US sire ranks was on show at the Breeders’ Cup, highlighted by Life is Good, who won the Dirt Mile by the second biggest margin in the race’s history. The filly’s dam, Sunny Desert, was also a quality race mare in America. She is a six-time Listed winner up to 1600m!
With all costs paid to the end of the year (December 31, 2021), as well as insurance cover in place to July 31, 2022, a 5% interest will cost $4,000 plus GST. For a well-educated and well-bred filly, out of a stallion that stands for US$225,000, this is exceptional value.
