Chicago Bear on the road again

After travelling west to South Australia for his last start (and win), Chicago Bear now heads north for his next task in the Dubbo Gold Cup in New South Wales.

Running competitively without winning in Victoria, the 6yo gelding appreciated the trip over to Morphettville for his last start, where he was most impressive. The step down in distance to 1600m as well as down in class gave Chicago Bear the chance to show his true potential.

Chicago Bear wins at Morphettville in July 2023.

With winning confidence under his belt, he will now travel to Dubbo to compete in their Gold Cup, which is also a qualifier race for the Big Dance on Cup Day at Randwick. As mentioned in previous weeks, OTI already has both Cepheus and Eaglemont qualified for the race, with Chicago Bear a potential third chance for the $3M race if he can feature in the quinella at Dubbo.

Best of luck to all involved, hopefully he can make it two in a row!
