With representatives in each capital city this weekend, OTI hope to record a Group winner for the fourth consecutive week. Quick Thinker and Night’s Watch at Randwick and Selica at Morphettville each have the chance to do it.
Quick Thinker is in the G3 Frank Packer Plate (2000m) after continuing to please since his victory in the G1 Australian Derby 2 weeks ago. Drawn wide in barrier ten, Opie Bosson will again ride as he looks to round out a special autumn for his connections.
Later in the program, Night’s Watch contests the G3 JRA Plate (2000m). Coming through his run in the Doncaster, he will look to replicate the effort that saw him winning the G3 Neville Sellwood over the distance two starts ago. Again Opie Bosson will be on board.
Benitoite will be searching for a breakthrough win this preparation in the VOBIS Gold Mile at Caulfield. Drawn towards the outside, Damien Oliver retains the ride as she aims for her sixth career victory.
At Morphettville, Selica will be looking to put a luckless run behind her in the G3 Schweppervescence Stakes (1800m). The Stokes team have been impressed with the filly as she progresses towards the Australasian Oaks.
Lord Fandango, who put in an excellent run in the Pinjarra Cup 2 weeks ago stretches out to the 3200m of the West Australian Cup at Ascot. The 7yo is expected to be most competitive.
Master Zephyr will be an outsider in the 1600m Bernborough Handicap at Doomben. This race should bring him on for a more suitable race in 2 weeks.
Best of luck to our fellow racing partners!
