The famous Royal Ascot Carnival is a highlight for not only Europe’s top trainers and horses, but also for others around the globe to prove how competitive their horses are. Already proving himself this year is Champion Australian sprinter Nature Strip, who won the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes in emphatic style on Tuesday.
OTI and our owners will be represented this week by Vina Sena and Timour, who are both expected to be competitive in their respective races.
Vina Sena has made the final field for the 2411m King George V Stakes on Thursday (Race 2 – 12:05am Friday AEST), where he’s drawn barrier 16 in a field of 21 with Jamie Spencer booked to ride. This talented son of Vadamos regained form last time out with a slashing run at Navan, and trainer Henry de Bromhead has always felt the colt could stay the mile and a half journey.
Timour has been entered for the Queen Alexandra Stakes on Saturday and at this stage, is a good chance of gaining a start. He hasn’t quite found his best yet this season, but hopefully he can get himself into a nice rhythm over the longer journey. This is likely to be his last run before heading down to Australia.
We wish all of those involved this week the very best of luck!
